Magnolia allows the configuration of the product using some models of configuration. A configuration model is formed from some features that allows, once that they have been evaluated, to represent an article. So, it’s possible to represent with a unique model a group of products with similar characteristics, but evaluated differently (color, dimensions, materials, etc…). The result is that from the order of the customer configured can be exploded the requirements for the production, without the necessity to encode a new base. Furthermore, if the configuration determines a new article, it’s created automatically from the system in the registry
With the commercial configurator it’s possible to define the commercial characteristics together with the price determination rules, based in the chosen variants in the configuration phase. The commercial configuration is natively integrated in the active cycle of DeskEngine.
The distinct base allows to define the bonds of a product with the related quantity. Magnolia makes available a powerful tool of parametrezation of the distinct base based on the Microsoft VBScript standard, which allows to “guide” the explosion of the distinct base setting the rules for the definition of the amount of use, the amount of waste, but also for the choice of the right bond with the components based on true factors, such as the current configuration of the completed or semi-completed product. Another type of parametrezation is given from the management of the alternatives of the distinct base, where the bonds of the components can be associated with different alternatives. Furthermore it’s provided the management of the fictitious bonds to define a logical structure of the distinct base different from the productive one
The cycle defines the sequence of the processing (phases) for the production of a complete product. You can define useful parameters for the scheduling of the activities and the calculation of the production costs for every phase, in particular the working time, the transit time, the tooling time, etc. As for the distinct base, also for the cycles is expected the possibility to associate phases with some different alternatives.
Magnolia expects a centralized source of order proposals, that can be populated with various methods of calculation of the requirements. Starting from this source, the production orders are generated. The advancement of the production orders can be partial or total, can involve one or more processing phases and determines, basing itself on the causal of advancement, if and in which warehouse discharge the components and the charge of the completed product. In any moment is possible to verify the advancement state of the single phases and modify the order structure both in terms of processing phases and of used components.
Magnolia manages the production needs in account of work. In particular in the account of passive work the production orders in a contractor’s work study generates automatically the account of work orders and the transport documents for the raw material that must be send to the working account. It’s managed all the warehouse handling and the references to documents ensuring the precise control of the stocks by contractors. Furthermore, every manufacture carried out by contractors has a quantity bands and a supplier bands list in which can be wrote down the processing cost.
One of the main goals of who manage the production is to monitor the advancement state of the activities and mostly to obtain an information’s consumptive useful for the efficiency rating of the productive system. Every processing phase is monitored to verify the advancement state and the performances, based on historical stats and data. For every phase are detailed the average time, the standard deviation, the average cost for every unit, and the deviation from what was expected. There are also expected various consultations among which single detection of the division’s operators. For every article are summarized the processing, the stop and the tooling average time, divided in processing phases, in addiction to the single detections. Plus, the details of the activities of the single operators (or of the set category) are available. The history of the surveys can be compared with the other operators at the phase level, to have a precise analysis of the department’s efficiency. It’s possible to know the advancement of the phases and the involved operators in real time. Magnolia includes a processing phase detection solution based on touch screen, through which the operators in production register the performed activities. The system automatically calculate the processing time and keep updated some characteristics based on historical data, pointing out the detection that deviate from the average for more then a certain threshold.
